I used to ask my son and then my granddaughter the following: Tell me the best thing that happened inside the classroom and the worst thing; then tell me the best thing that happened outside on the playground and the worst thing. Without their thinking I was "grilling" them, it was fun for them and I pretty much got some great accounts of their day!! Try it.
