Visit from Auntie Ann & Uncle Dave.

What do O'Brien-type relatives do when they find out you're moving to Australia? Get in the car and drive 24 hours round-trip just to spend 36 hours visiting.

Auntie Ann and Uncle Dave read stories...

Supervised playtime.

Played games. And LOTS of legos.

Seriously, lots of legos.

Got to see a fashion show of all the girls' dress-up clothes.
And posed for pictures.

It was a wonderful visit. Too short, but so good to spend time with them again before we leave on our big adventure. Thanks for coming, you guys. We love you!

Mini yogis.

Mommy did it!!! She finished all her training and extra hours (200 hours all together) and is now a Registered Yoga Teacher!

And it wouldn't have been possible without the incredible support of Daddy and these two mini-yogis. They hung out together during all that training, did tons of housework and errand-running and projects together, acted as guinea pigs and took practice classes, and offered love and support throughout the whole thing. They are amazing!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Shawn, Lily and Rory! This meant so much to me, and I love you all so much! You guys are the best.

American girls.

Grammy had promised the girls a trip to the (opening-at Christmastime) American Girl Doll Store in Charlotte. With the news of our upcoming move, we had to come up with a plan B. So it was a girls-only road trip to Washington DC. It was maybe the most exciting thing that had ever happened to Lily and Rory.
There was shopping.

And both dolls, Kit and Ruthie, got their ears pierced. For reals.
We had dinner at the cafe, with special doll-sized chairs, plates and tea cups.
Four cute girls.
And two other girls.
The presentation of the food was awesome. And very kid-friendly.
(And doll-friendly too.)

Seriously happy child.
And we ended the day with a sleepover in the hotel room, complete with Grammy storytime.
Did I mention that the girls got outfits to match their dolls?!?!
A fabulous weekend, with some fabulous ladies!

With my favorite super kid!

Mother's Day.

Mother's Day has become a week-long event (not that this Mommy is complaining...) beginning with Muffins for Moms at preschool.
And a potted plant.
Continuing with Muffins for Moms two days later at the elementary school.
And a homemade purse from Lily telling EXACTLY what she thinks of me!
(I can always remember to go to yoga.)
(It's okay that I don't make dresses.)
(My hair looks like chocolate and I only weigh 100 pounds!)

(She knows what's in my real purse!)
And ending on actual Mother's Day with breakfast in bed, lovely cards. One from Lily:

And one from Rory:

And a bike ride and brunch with my three favorite people.
What a lucky Mommy!

Wax Museum Project.

Greatest school project ever...
Each child had to choose a historical figure, research them, memorize their history, and then act as the person's wax figure. Including reciting the speech when their "button" was pushed.

Lily chose Anne Frank. And she did an amazing job!

We're so proud of you, Bug! Job well done!

Spring flowers.

In the yard and on their dresses.
