Another Author Visit!

The local bookstore hosted an author visit with Katherine Applegate, who wrote one of Lily's most favorite books, The One and Only Ivan! I love watching our girl meet her heroes, especially when they are female and authors!

2nd grade field trip.

The second grade went to one of our favorite museums downtown... Natural Sciences. Sadly, Lily was eaten by a T Rex.
And then she and I were both attacked by a prehistoric shark.
But we ended the day at Raleigh's replica of the Liberty Bell.

Thanks to a birthday present from Auntie a few years ago, we raised butterflies again this year.

 One escaped!
 We got it back.
This is one of our favorite activities, until the day that we have to release the butterflies. That day, the girls cry and I swear we're never going to do it again. Until next year...

Easter Weekend 2014.

The girls love spending the weekend at Grammy & Bumpa's house... Bunk beds, showers in the giant shower, all their favorite foods, tons of toys, and dogs everywhere...

Sweet Holly.
Crazy Poppins.

New puppies at Project2Heal.

Mommy got them when they were all riled up.
Daddy prefers his piles of puppies to be sleepy.

Plus, for an extra special treat, we got all dressed up and went to church.
But we have the most fun when we're being silly.
Happy Easter!

Spring Break oh-Fourteen!

It was a low-key time this year. But there were sleepovers.
And a day at M*rbles, with arial acrobats.

And a trip to the bookstore, for books AND cookies.
And we all had a really nice time.
