Filling the rest of the snow days.

Once the initial fun of actually playing in the snow had worn off and school stayed closed for an additional FOUR DAYS, we had to get more creative with how to have fun. There were epic games of make-believe and dress up, with story arcs that took multiple days to play out. We took out every single toy in the play room. There were marathon chess tournaments, lots of movies watched and a million art projects completed.

At one point Lily turned herself into a "box" turtle.
And finally we had a play date with good friends and their guinea pigs. Lily was in charge, and turned it in to story time, of course, while Rory just wanted to love and cuddle and squeeze the poor pigs.
Plus their mom was willing to set these maniacs loose in the kitchen with cookies, frosting and sprinkles. Big fun!!!

Sledding, Hobbs-style.

Snow Day!

It snowed! Real snow! Enough to play in and go sledding and wear all our winter clothes!

Car girls.

The art museum had a massive exhibit of classic porsches, and as a treat for Daddy we went to check it out. But Lily & Rory had nearly as much fun as he did. They especially like being able to see into the engines of some of the cars.

Weekend in Charlotte.

I suppose we were technically there to see Grammy & Bumpa, but really, it was all about the dogs. Having sleepovers with Holly...
And playing with the puppies at Project2Heal.

A few last memories...

On our last night, back at Auntie's apartment in Amsterdam, Lily lost another tooth! Turns out, the tooth fairy brings dollars, even when you're in Europe.
Saying goodbye is always hard. We love Auntie so much, and we miss her terribly. But we had SUCH a wonderful time, and we are so lucky to be able to go on amazing adventures like this with her!
The last, funniest moment of the trip was when we arrived at our gate at the airport and Lily looked out the window to see a D*lta plane sitting there. In a panic, she announced, "This is the wrong plane!!!! We ordered a KLM!" Fortunately, it still got us home.
