A Visit from the "Keens"

Keen Family Fun ensued when Auntie Ann and cousins Colleen & Loren visited for a couple of days. Lily was especially fond of Loren, and is still asking for her new best friend, "Low-ee".

The box is a hit with kids of all ages:

While Lily was demanding slightly less time and attention from her, Auntie Erin worked on Penny's hair:

Lily now has enough dress-up clothes for everyone!

Some of us just couldn't get enough!!

I love my Auntie...

...She plays all the best games with me!

As you can see, Lily loves the new dishwasher too, especially the box it came in.

"Lily HELP!!!"

Lately, all Lily wants to do is help with whatever we're doing. Here she is helping Daddy to install one of Mommy's favorite Christmas gifts - a new dishwasher!

She does an excellent job of handing tools to Daddy...

...And getting right underfoot!

A Trip with my Daddy

Today I got to go to one of my favorite places with my daddy, the indoor playground. We had So. Much. Fun. We played with the baby dolls (my favorite) and made sure to give them their medicine. We did all the grocery shopping daddy could handle. AND I got to ride on daddy's shoulders, until I didn't want to anymore.

-See, there I am on his shoulders. That's also me on the side of the picture on the guy with his back to you. Mirrors are my favorite!

We also got to play with all kinds of instruments. Drums are my favorite!

Daddy says I'm a very fun date, but that I'm not allowed to date until I'm 30. So I'm sure there are a lot of disappointed 2-year-olds out there. Oh well. Bye for now!

Still Cookin'

Still dressing up, and still loving her new dolly, Penny: 24 hours later, I think it's safe to say that her Christmas gifts were a hit!

Christmas 2007 - A Picture Story

Merry Christmas!!!

Our beautiful tree, before the whirlwind hit

Lily helps Auntie Erin open a gift...

... and opens one of her own.

Lily's new doll, who we have named Penny,
reads one of Lily's new books.

Lily is a cooking machine in her new kitchen!

Baby tries out the cradle that Daddy made with the blanket that Auntie
made just for Baby. It matches the one that Auntie made for
Lily before she was born.

"Wow! Santa really ate the cookies I left him!"

"He left some - I think I should finish them..."

We got her to say Merry Christmas several times today...
It came out "Maymay Kisses!!"

The Great Cookie-Making Extravaganza of '07

One of my favorite Christmas-time memories is baking cookies. I wasn't going to share this tradition with Lily this year as I didn't think she was quite ready. But after a lot of whining on Daddy's part about not getting any cookies, I reconsidered. Also, I had store-bought cookies to leave out for Santa, but we ate them all. It ended up being an all-day, multi-step event. But I completely underestimated Lily - she was such a good helper and we had so much fun...

Part one, mixing the dough:

Part two, licking the beater for the first time ever:
"Ummm, you guys have been holding out on me!!"

"There's some on this thing too!"

Part three - rolling the dough & cutting out the cookies:
Part four - Decorating:
"Um, I seem to have made a bit of a mess here..."

And here's what Santa gets:Lily decorated the tree and the snowflake with just a little help from Mommy & Daddy.

Part five will be eating some cookies, but we we save that for tomorrow. Lily ate lots of dough, lots of frosting and about 7 red-hots throughout the process. We have a bit of a sugar-high on our hands at the moment...

Lily's Understanding of Christmas

There you have it - Santa is coming tonight. He says "ho ho ho" and he brings toys. And the last word of Jingle Bells is a very enthusiastic "hey!!!"

Christmas with "Gammy"

Lily's "Gammy" came to visit to celebrate Christmas a little early.
Lily was pretty excited...

"Wow, Gammy! You brought keys and shoes - my two favorite things!!"

"This is for you!"

"Lily cook!!!"

"I love you, Gammy!!"
