Funny face...

Crawling is for babies! Lily hasn't perfected hers yet, but she'd much rather "walk" anyway. Attempts at crawling reduce her to tears, but hold her hands and let her limp and stumble forward and she'll giggle like crazy!!!

I didn't even attempt to get a shot of all 8 babies, but here are a few action shots:

All of the little ones seem very attracted to Lily's head...
But this week she finally started fighting back!

She moved!

Lily moved today - several feet across the floor by way of an inchworm move. What finally inspired this achievement? A favorite toy, her pacifier, Scout???

Nope. My daughter moved to get to a pair of shoes, rainbow flip-flops to be precise. That's my girl!

Giggles & Wiggles

Here's Lily laughing at her favorite puppy dog, and then trying her hardest to get across the room to her. She does these funny hard-core push-ups, on her hands and toes, complete with grunting. It's hard work! She does manage to do an inchworm move once in awhile, she just hasn't figured out that she can do it all the time. I turned the camera off just before the frustrated crying began.

She has the sweetest little laugh...

7 Months Old

Wow - I know I keep saying this, but how have 7 months gone by already? Our sweet girl continues to change and grow so quickly... She still amazes us on a daily basis.

Likes: Cheerios, anything out of a Gerber container, spilling water out of a real cup, riding on Daddy's shoulders, Peek-a-Boo, trying to chase Scout, being outside, the mall (there's so much to look at), tearing up magazines, the tv remote, .

Dislikes: Fresh fruit or vegetables, sippy cups, riding in a stroller for more than 20 minutes, when mommy leaves the room, not being able to crawl yet!

The crawling thing is going to happen soon. Lily gets up on her hands & knees and rocks. Occasionally she manages to move one hand forward. Shawn & I are torn... we cheer her on and we can't wait to see her crawl, but we kind of hate how quickly she's growing up. And, we know that everything will change once she can move. We've spent the past couple of weekends trying to babyproof the house.

Sitting up is old news now. She can sit for 20 minutes at a time, if nothing catches her eye to inspire her to move. She can even catch herself if she starts to tip over.

A day in the life... Lily has a social calendar like you wouldn't believe! She has a standing playdate on Tuesdays, story time at the library on Wednesdays, and a walking group on Thursdays. She's really starting to enjoy "playing" with the other babies, and she does great with the other mommies too, which I hope will help her with the inevitable stranger anxiety. A big favorite of Lily's is the weekly trip to the grocery store - she starts wiggling like crazy in the parking lot on our way in. She really wants to "help" pull things off the shelf and loves to smile and squeal at the other shoppers.

The little lovebug is starting to become very affectionate. She snuggles with us during storytime before naps and holds her arms out to be held. It's so sweet it takes my breath away sometimes.

We've also started signing with her and she seems to understand the two most important signs - "milk" and "eat". She is trying really hard to talk to us as well. She has recently discovered that she can squeal at different volumes and is having lots of fun scaring Scout with pitches that only she can hear.

The other recent development is Lily's new-found freedom in her crib. We finally stopped swaddling her at 5 and 1/2 months, and we just took her sleep positioner away last weekend. She's sleeping great still (knock on wood!) and now amuses herself in her crib for a half hour or so when she wakes up, talking to her stuffed animals and her mobile. It's a riot.

Look, I fit inside my diaper bag - that's just silly!

I'm trapped!

Hmmm... maybe I can chew my way out.

I will escape...

I love my excersaucer! Clearly, Lily enjoys three-day-weekends! Hope everyone else had as much fun as she did...
