Full term!

(37 weeks) The Stowaway is now considered full term, though we still have three weeks to go 'til her due date. As the doctors keep saying at my weekly appointments, it could be any time now, but we likely have a couple more weeks to go.

It's strange to think of this being over. On one hand, I am so anxious to finally hold this little girl, see what she looks like, and start the next chapter of our lives. But, I have loved being pregnant, for the most part, and I think I will miss some parts of it. I know I will miss feeling her movements - She gets the hiccups almost every day, and in the mornings, she goes all crazy and does a little dance routine in there...

I go back and forth on when I think she'll arrive. I'm starting to get a little uncomfortable now, so I would love it if she came a little early, but part of me still thinks she'll be a little late - I'm thinking the week after our due date. We'll see... Either way, our bags are packed, the carseats are in our cars and her room is all ready. All we need now is the baby... We can't wait to introduce her to all of you!

Mommy's Birthday

I keep saying that this is my last birthday... I'm 28 today. My mom & Erin spent the weekend in Raleigh (Erin's birthday was on Thursday - we like to celebrate together!) Which meant that we got to spend lots of time with Miss Lucy, Erin's new puppy. Here's some pictures of our weekend...

35 Weeks down, 35 Days to go...

(35 weeks) Stuff from this week:
*We had our last childbirth class, this one focusing on baby care. We got to practice bathing, swaddling and dressing an infant and had a long question and answer session on taking care of a newborn. Good stuff - and very helpful.

*We also had our last bi-weekly doctor's appointment on Wednesday. From now on, I will see them once a week. I have finally managed to see every doctor in the practice, so there is no chance of a complete stranger delivering the Stowaway! According to the doctor we saw this week, she is head-down and getting ready for birth, so those are definitely feet I can feel up in my ribs!

*I had a shower at work yesterday and the Stowaway received her oh-so-sassy bedding for the crib. I am really going to miss the people that I work with - they are so good to me! And I keep saying that I don't think my new "boss" will be nearly as laid-back or flexible as my current boss! Plus, I think the hours will be a lot longer :)

*My belly button finally popped - I am an official outie now. Does that mean she's all done "cooking"?

Story Time

(34 weeks) The Stowaway loves story time! Her daddy has been reading her one of her many books each night before bed. She seems to really enjoy both his voice and the stories, as she squirms and kicks like crazy as soon as he starts and keeps it up until story time is over.

I think daddy is also experiencing some "nesting". In the past week or so, he has built a bookshelf (shaped like a dollhouse!) and a nursing stool and has started refinishing the armoire that we will be putting in the nursery. Photos to come soon...

He is one excited dad-to-be!
