One trimester down (or so we thought)!

The doctor has "officially" changed our due date to February 17th, so tomorrow, we will be 11 weeks along, or not quite as far as they originally thought. Since the due date is just a guess anyway, that's no big deal.

So far, we are all doing very well. We had a doctor's appointment today. The Stowaway looks good - everything appears normal for both of us. We got to have another ultrasound, but not on the big fancy machine this time, so the picture isn't great. But, the baby was waving and I did get to see the heart beating, which is simply amazing.

Meanwhile, Mama is hanging in there. I had a couple of rough weeks where I was always either exhausted, nauseous, or needing to go to the bathroom, and sometimes all three. Most of that has improved over the past two weeks (our trip to the Outer Banks seemed to agree with me!) and I am starting to be able to enjoy pregnancy. It still feels very surreal, and I imagine that until I start showing and feeling the baby move, that will be the case.

We have had an exciting week or so, as we finally have been able to share our news with family and friends. We gave the grandparents and Aunts & Uncle-to-be framed ultrasound photos, with no explanation or note. It has been fun to watch their faces or hear their reactions to the news!

We will try to post once a week, or as things happen, which will probably be pretty slow for awhile...

Love to all,
Kelly, Shawn & the Stowaway

A Tiny Heart Beat...

We had our first ultrasound today (8 and 1/2 weeks). We finally saw the little stowaway and got to hear a very healthy fetal heart rate - 132 beats per minute. It was an amazing sound... Check out Baby Hobbs' first photo shoot!
