Two Pink Lines!

We are pregnant!! There is a Baby Hobbs on the way...

This is after 5 home pregnancy tests. The first two we took too early (I guess it's a good thing we didn't spend the money on one in Munich!). I woke up at about 5:30 this morning and took the third one, which had a bright pink line with a very faint pink line next to it... so I took two more just to be sure! We're sure!

Are we pregnant?

My first clue was on a train ride from Florence to Venice. I felt a little motion sickness, which is unusual for me. The books all say that it was too early at this point for me to be feeling anything at all, but something wasn't quite right and I felt the first flutters of hope that maybe we did have a baby on the way. I mentioned to Shawn that I wasn't feeling well, but he didn't seem to think anything of it.

The following day, in Venice, I was overwhelmed with exhaustion and had to sit for a couple of hours. Granted, we'd been going non-stop for over a week at this point, but this too was a new feeling.

The following day we arrived in Germany and went to Neuchwanstein Castle and hiked in the surrounding Alps. Again, I felt strangely tired, but again, this was not a "relaxing" vacation.

About a week after the first twinge of nausea, we arrived in Munich for the last few days of our European Adventure... Three days in a row at about the same time, I got nauseous. I pointed it out to Shawn in the Science Museum, and this time he realized what I was trying to say. But neither of us said it out loud yet, not wanting to jinx it.

On our last day in Munich, and our last day of the trip, we sat outside the Haufbrau House, watching the tourists, and Shawn almost went into a German pharmacy to buy a pregnancy test. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday, so everything was closed. (Also, it's unlikely that we would have been able to understand the instruction sheet.) With our flight home early the next morning and a stopover at my parents' house in Charlotte planned for our way home, we would have to wait a few more days. It was nice to live with the possibility though. Like Shawn said "Well, we'll see... we'll just see..."
